High school pupils and those deciding what to study came together at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology’s Open Day held on Saturday, 9 May 2015. The annual event was held at CPUT’s Bellville Campus but courses are also offered at five other campuses including the Cape Town Campus, Athlone Campus and Wellington Campus.
For students from other provinces, the university has made provision for accommodation in its residences and other student housing options. Commuting is made easy by the minibus taxis, bus and train services that travel between Cape Town CBD and the surrounding areas.
Boasting a wide range of degrees, the university displayed all the courses available in the various faculties. Students currently enrolled at the university were present to share their experiences and advice with the youth. The Science Stars team attended the career exhibition to raise awareness on the importance of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.
Considering over 70 courses offered by the university can become rather tiring and overwhelming, but the university was prepared with entertainment by GoodHope FM presenter, Carl Wastie.
Applications to study at CPUT are now open and prospective students can visit the university’s website for more information about studying there in 2016. More information can also be gained by calling (021) 959 6767 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org
