Scifest Africa 2020 @ 1820 Settlers’ National Monument
September 9, 2020 - September 15, 2020
The 24th National Science Festival will take place from 09-15 September 2020 in Makhanda (formerly Grahamstown) in the Eastern Cape.
The theme for this year is “Take root… nurture!”, which celebrates the International Year of Plant Health as proclaimed by the United Nations. The theme recognises that plants constitute the foundation for all life on Earth, ecosystem function, food security and boosts economic development. “Take root… nurture!” feeds into the 2030 agenda for sustainable development and recognises that plants are relevant in various disciplines.
In 2020, we encourage our contributors and visitors to recognise the importance of plant health and how this is a pipeline for technologies, innovation, economy and products in their field of research and expertise.
Scifest Africa offers a rich festival programme consisting of exhibitions, lectures, workshops and over 400 other events.
