2026 MOSHAL SCHOLARSHIP

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying:

You must be a South African citizen

You must be currently in Grade 12 OR you must be currently studying at a recognised South African university or TVET college

You must have achieved a minimum result of 60% for all subjects in the latest examinations (June 2023 Grade 11 or Grade 12 results)

You must have proven financial need, with a combined gross household income of less than R500,000 per annum

You must have applied for and been provisionally accepted to study at a recognised and accredited South African university or TVET college for the 2026 academic year

You must intend on studying towards a first undergraduate degree or national diploma in 2026 (students pursuing a second degree or diploma are not eligible)

You must be 23 years old or younger in 2026

You must reside in and have attended high school in one of the following provinces: Gauteng, Free State, KwaZulu-Natal, North West, or Northern Cape

WHAT THE SCHOLARSHIP COVERS

The scholarship will provide cover for the following expenses:

Tuition fees

Accommodation in a university or TVET residence

Meals and living expenses

Prescribed books and materials

A monthly stipend

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

Step 1: Check your eligibility
Ensure that you meet all of the eligibility criteria listed above.

Step 2: Gather your supporting documents
You will need to have the following documents ready to upload with your application:

A certified copy of your South African ID document

A certified copy of your June 2025 results (if currently in Grade 12)

A certified copy of your final Grade 11 results (if currently in Grade 12)

A certified copy of your latest academic transcript/record (if currently at tertiary)

Proof of provisional admission from a recognised university or TVET college (if available)

Proof of household income (payslips or sworn affidavits if unemployed)

Step 3: Apply online
Applications must be submitted online at: Moshal Scholarship Application Portal (https://moshal.erecruit.co/candidateapp/Login)

Step 4: Shortlisting and interviews
Shortlisted candidates will be contacted and invited to attend an interview. If you do not receive any feedback by the end of January 2026, please regard your application as unsuccessful.
