The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) provides financial assistance to eligible students, ensuring that financial barriers don’t stand in the way of higher education. If you meet the criteria below, you are strongly encouraged to apply before the deadline.


Who Qualifies for NSFAS Funding?

To be eligible for the NSFAS bursary, applicants must meet the following requirements:

✅ Citizenship: You must be a South African citizen or permanent resident.
✅ Income Threshold: Your combined gross household income must not exceed R350,000 per year.
✅ For Students with Disabilities: The household income limit is R600,000 per year.
✅ Institution: You must be studying or planning to study at one of South Africa’s 26 public universities or 50 TVET colleges.
✅ Current Students: If you are already registered at a public university or TVET college but not yet funded by NSFAS, you may still apply.


Application Tips

When completing your NSFAS application, ensure that your ID number, first name(s), and surname are entered exactly as they appear on your South African ID document.
